June was a jam-packed month for announcements, events and headline news for Greater Manchester as we baked in a heatwave.
Our sector teams were busy representing our city region, showcasing the opportunities and partnerships that make Greater Manchester the place to scale a business in the UK at major events including London Tech Week and Bio International Convention, building on existing, and establishing new, relationships.
On home soil we welcomed the Office for Investment’s Creative and Consumer team for a two-day programme that brought to life the scale and ambition of the city region’s creative and innovation ecosystem. We were delighted to welcome the arrival of Irish animation studio Kavaleer to the city and the expansion of CAF Rail UK’s operations with the opening of its new overhaul facility.
Greater Manchester’s economy continued to make headlines with Manchester ranked the best performing UK city for FDI outside of London, the UK’s most AI-ready city for a third year, and the news that Manchester’s AI sector has hit $4.7bn.
