Leaders from across Greater Manchester’s public and private sectors gathered to launch the region’s official presence at MIPIM 2027, setting out how to showcase a new generation of investment, regeneration and growth opportunities on the global stage.

The launch, held at Soho House Manchester, marked the start of preparations for MIPIM 2027, building on the success of Greater Manchester’s presence in 2026 which highlighted projects such as Middleton Regeneration, Stockport MDC, transport-led regeneration and ambitions to boost the region’s creative sector.

As the world’s largest property event, MIPIM provides an important platform for Greater Manchester to attract investment, build international partnerships and support the delivery of its long-term growth ambitions.

Looking ahead, 2027 is set to be another significant year for the Greater Manchester delegation. A change in national context means that Greater Manchester has come to the forefront of UK politics and is acting as a living example of what devolved powers can mean for regional growth.

New local leadership is taking the region’s success further, generating opportunities across the city-region. By setting a bigger stage for investment and regeneration, Greater Manchester is ensuring growth reaches more places, benefits more people and creates longer-term value for investors, businesses and communities.

At MIPIM 2027, Greater Manchester’s public and private sector partners will be presenting an ambitious pipeline of development and regeneration opportunities that reflect this scale of opportunity across the city-region.

From new homes and employment districts to innovation-led growth, the programme will highlight how Greater Manchester is delivering sustainable, inclusive growth through long-term collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Taking place in Cannes, France, from 16 to 19 March 2027, MIPIM is the world’s leading property and investment event, attracting thousands of investors, developers, occupiers and public sector leaders from across the globe.

Manchester’s MIPIM launch coincides with new announcements from the conference this week including a major expansion that will see a series of new stages and fringe locations across Cannes. The expansion includes a Tech and AI Hub, Luxury Living and Branded Residences destination and a new resilience stage to encourage conversations around climate risk and pressures facing cities.

Speakers at the launch included Garry Bridges, Leader of Manchester City Council, Tom Stannard, Chief Executive of Manchester City Council; Hilary Brett, Development Director of Far East Consortium (FEC), Victoria Braddock, Managing Director of Marketing Manchester; and Nicolas Boffi, Global MIPIM Director.

Speaking at the launch, Cllr Garry Bridges, Leader of Manchester City Council, said:

“And now more than ever, Manchester is on everyone’s lips, everyone is talking about Manchester and Manchesterism. Especially because of the great work we have done here.

“Circumstances politically could not be more advantageous than they are now, and we really need to step up. The Invest Manchester Partnership has led to Manchester’s growth so far and will be fundamental to our next stage.”

Tom Stannard, Chief Executive at Manchester City Council, said:

“Manchesterism is all over the news, we don’t want to assume that there’s a clear path. All of the noise around Manchester is a massive investment prospect. It’s set the bar high for Manchester, and we’ve got to keep our momentum going. We’ve got to make sure that the alignment is proactive.

“The longevity of the Invest Manchester partnership is the foundation for all of this. That family approach, has been massively important to us over the years and provides a consistent view for developers as well.”

Hilary Brett, Development Director at Far East Consortium UK, said:

“This is the next chapter for Greater Manchester. The city has been successfully positioned on the global stage, and now the focus is on extending that profile across the whole region.

“What was great about going to MIPIM with Manchester last year was that it puts your projects in a wider context. Being there and part of the Manchester contingent gave more depth to what we were talking about and opened up more conversations.”

Nicolas Boffi added:

” MIPIM is a very strong platform, it’s the leading platform globally. This is a show that has been around for 37 years now. This year we want to talk more about the investment priorities globally and what it means for places like Manchester. There will be lots of focus on sectors and different areas for growth as we extend our footprint.”

Working alongside RX Global, the Greater Manchester partnership will bring together key stakeholders from across the city-region at MIPIM 2027. Several public and private sector organisations have already committed to attend, including strategic partners Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Manchester City Council and Invest Manchester.

Additional partners confirmed to date include Civic, EPR Architects, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Invest Manchester, MACE, Maccreanor Lavington, Manchester Central, Manchester City Council, OBI, pro-manchester, Renaker, Salford City Council with further organisations expected to join the delegation in the coming months.

Greater Manchester’s presence at MIPIM is coordinated by Invest Manchester and Marketing Manchester. Participation in the event enables the city region to showcase investment opportunities, strengthen international relationships and drive forward the regeneration and economic growth ambitions set out across Greater Manchester’s towns and cities.

Wrapping up the event, Victoria Braddock, Managing Director of Marketing Manchester, said:

“This year has been an incredibly exciting one for our region. Greater Manchester is well and truly on the global map, and now with just 6 months to go, we’re preparing for MIPIM in a particularly important moment.

“There has never been a more important time to tell our story on the global stage – and for us that starts in Cannes. We hope partners from across Greater Manchester can join us.”
